Sammy Jr.

So we have not seen our pet squirrel, Sammy, in a long time. Our apartment has been trapping them and moving them to a different location and we're sure Sammy is somewhere else now. However, I think his son, Sammy Jr. is brave enough to explore these days and has been visiting. (One of the main reasons they're moving the squirrels at all is because there was a nest of baby squirrels in one of the building attics)

Our New Pet

This is our new pet, Sammy the Squirrel. Yup. We have another balcony dweller. He visits several times a day. Today he had a friend over, Suzanne the Squirrel.

This is Petey. Yes, she has a nest in our dead plant that's hanging on our balcony.

This is just a day or two before they flew away.

Here's the younger one. His brother was gone and I found him in a different pot. I eventually got to see him take his first flight. It was so cute. I think it was the hormones, but I almost cried. I felt really proud and a little sad that they were gone. I really liked having these kinds of pets. They were outside so they didn't stink up my apartment, and I didn't have to feed them, either.
