Brooklynn's 4-month Dr. Visit

Brooke weighs 15 pounds, 2 ounces. She is now at the 85th percentile for weight. Her head is 16 inches and I think that is 50th percentile. (They always forget to write down the head stuff.)
And she is still tall for her age, measuring at 26 1/4 inches! That is above the 95th percentile, still. I keep waiting for her to even out. At least now her weight is going up, so she doesn't look so skinny; she looks just right.
She didn't cry this time for the oral vaccination, and the ones with the needles were as bad as ever. I tried to comfort her and even put a little sugar on her pacifier to distract her and then her face got BRIGHT red from her gearing up to scream-cry. It's horrible. She wouldn't even let me feed her this time to calm her down she was crying so hard. She eventually stopped crying and we left. But MAN, I hate putting her through that. I know it's better than her getting sick by not getting them, but still.
We got the official go-ahead to start solid foods! Right now we're trying rice cereal. She doesn't seem to like it very much.

A Very Happy Reunion

I'm very glad we got to stay in Indiana longer than we planned. It was so great to spend some extra time with my parents. With that said, we sure missed Josh! Every night when I would read her bedtime story she would look around and not see him like, "Where is Daddy? What is wrong?" So while we would have loved to stay several more weeks in Indiana, we were anxious to get home to Josh. Boy was Brooke excited! (So was I, but it was even cuter to watch the two of them together).

Aunt Bobbie!

Brooke got to meet her Great Aunt Bobbie while we stayed in Toledo! What a fun surprise for everyone! We're so glad we got a chance to meet up!

Grandma Becky!

While we were in Indiana we stopped in the bank to visit a long-time family friend, Becky! It was so great to see her. I think Becky was really excited to meet Brooke. What do you think?

Weekend with the Ashleys!

We finally made it back to Indiana! It was the first time since Thanksgiving, and Brooke's very first time. It was so good to be back and see family!

Some highlights from our visit:
Brooke finally got to meet her Grandpa Ashley
Brooke got to meet her Uncle Jacob

We got to meet Diana & Jacob's dog, Bernie

Spending time with my Mom (And Brooke getting to see her Grandma again)
Watching Brooke with her cousins, especially Mia. Mia LOVED Brooke and was so cute with her. Between Mia and Marisa, I don't think I had to change any of Brooke's diapers while they were there! It was fun to watch them interact. They are getting ready to be big sisters and are going to be such a big help! Brooke loves her cousins and can't wait to see them again. (And to meet her newest cousin when she gets here!)

Getting to see my sisters!

One word: Shopping

Brooke got some bonding time with her Aunts

Brooke got to see her Uncle Marc again. Boy does she love him! He got her laughing better than any of us! It was so cute! (James and Jacob, I think you have some competition!)

Playing at Johnny Appleseed Park. I think my neices and Bernie thought that the park was their favorite thing. And boy are they good at baseball already!

Brooke got to take so many naps with so many people! She loved it; I don't think I put her in her pack & play very much at all that week.

We got to hear Mia read! She is doing so great, I'm really impressed. She starts kindergarten in August. Here she is reading to Brooke.

On the way home Brooke and I stayed with Diana and Jacob in Toledo. Brooke got to meet their cats, Bird and Bella! She liked them but I think she likes Bernie better.

And of course, we took lots of pictures!
