Since we were driving out to Indiana anyway for Diana's shower, we decided to go a day early to hang out, and get ready for the shower. Gabby loved getting to meet the entire Ashley family and Brooklynn enjoyed seeing them all but mostly playing with all of her cousin's toys. Mia and Marisa both had school so Brooklynn and Myla got to have lots of special cousin time just the two of them.
Brooklynn was REALLY excited that they had bikes she could ride.
I never got around to mailing Mia and Marisa's birthday presents so I decided to bring them in person. We got Mia some earrings since she just got her ears pierced.
And for Marisa I made her a tutu and got her the head wrap she has on.
Brooklynn kept bringing everyone all sorts of cups and plates from the girl's kitchen. I'd love to get a kitchen for Brooklynn but we just have no room for it. She sure loves playing with them when we go somewhere that has one, though. Here is Josh. Notice all the stuff in his lap.
Saturday morning we sent Josh and Marc outside with the kids to play with pop all the balloons that Jacob had way too much fun blowing up.
Brooklynn couldn't quite get the popping down.
Don't worry, that is just Myla standing on the chair...and Brooklynn hiding under the table with a whoopie pie. Don't mind them.
We're all really excited for Diana and Jacob to become parents. Right now they just get the really super fun job of being "aunt" and "uncle".
Grandma and Grandpa Ashley with all the grandkids.
And here they are with just the Bean kids.
Gabby did so well with so many people there to hold her. She even let us put her down occasionally. She loved their baby gym, which is a little different than ours.
And of course no gathering is complete without a dance party. (at least according to Brooklynn.)
Josh taught the kids the game he often plays with Brooklynn, "Basketball Cleanup".
Thanks for a great weekend, everybody! We sure wish we lived closer so we could do it more often. We're working on it.
