Josh's parents came for the weekend to meet Gabriella and spend some much needed "special time" with Brooklynn. They got in late Thursday night and Brooklynn was very excited, showing off for them way past her bedtime. Then on Friday we went to "Chutes and Ladders" (Josh's and my name for the indoor playground) and then Josh met us there around lunch time. He took a half day on Friday. We went out to dinner Friday night with everybody. Brooklynn did really well there. We rarely go out to dinner, mostly financial reasons. But she loves it. I wish we could more often, mostly because then I don't have to clean up her mess afterwards. Her highlight was after getting to eat Grandpa's cherry that came in his drink, the waitress brought her a whole bowl of her own cherries.
Saturday we played at Kehler's gymnastics with our church play group outing (more on that later) and Saturday night they babysat BOTH kids and Josh and I went out on a date! Woohoo! It's been quite a while, and it was much needed to get a little break from our kids. It's funny because we ate our entire dinner so quickly we had only been gone maybe an hour so then we went to Target just to stay out. And that was thrilling for us...the things parents will do for entertainment.
Sunday we all went to church and that afternoon Grandpa had to leave but Grandma stayed for several more days. We all watched the Academy Awards, leaving ME the champion this year! Wooohoo!
Thanks so much for coming out to spend time with us and your grandchildren!
